Metal Gear Rising.... Arises?

So after it's little debut back in 09 Metal Gear Solid fi... Rising kinda fell off the charts. Basically the game was an answer to all the little Raiden fan-girls where he'd get his own game implementing his cyborg ninja form from MGS 4. The possiblity of the game was actually hinted back in the MGS 3 extras, after a hilarious mini-sode where Raiden failed to kill Big Boss in order to make sure he got Snakes spot in the fourth game. His girlfriend Rose tries to cheer him up, pointing out he still has a chance at starring in MGS 5.

The 2009 E3 trailer was brief, but it showed off the main mechanic of the game. REALISTIC NINJA STYLE SWORD CUTTING ACTON!!!!!!!!! Boy did that stuff look bad-ass. After that, we never really heard much more from it. Until Last night at the VGA's where a new trailer was released, but with a little surprise. During the little credit section of the trailer, it was revealed that the game was being developed by Platinum Games. Makes sense, cause the trailer does have some Bayonetta-esque visuals on the fighting gameplay.

So what does this mean for the game? Platinum's got some great games, Bayonetta, Madworld, and Vanquish, but how comfortable would the fans be having their series handled by a foreign developer? One has to wonder, but clearly Kojima saw this as a necessity. Lets see how this goes.

Btw, the trailer is EPIC!
