R.I.P. Mr. Joe Simon

Yesterday we lost a great in the comic book industry. Possibly the greatest depending how you look at it. Joe Simon, the man best known for co-creating Captain America passed at the age of 98 on December 14, 2011. He was the first editor at Marvel, which at the start was called Timely comics, and brought up the company alongside Jack Kirby before Stan Lee came in.

Simon deserves all of our respect. Not just comic book fans, but American citizens as well, for giving us our greatest symbol, Captain America.
